End of a day and no more rollercoaster...I hope

Well, I am down to 77 and do not want to go any further so, time to go eat something other than the glucose tablets and protein that I have had. Tomorrow being Monday I am going to make this a good week. I will get my sensor back in, eat right, get walking again and hopefully no more rollercoasters. I shall do it one day at a time! Ciao!

Sugar Rollercoaster slowing down

At least I am coming down slowly...150 now. What is it about diabetes that some days I deal with it so much better than others??? Some days when I say " It can only get better" I am just trying to pump myself up to deal. How do you take a mental break from a disease that effects so many aspects of your daily life. Is there ever anything we ever do as diabetics that does NOT effect our sugars???? Heck, my sugars are even effected while I am asleep when I am not doing anything. Okay...other than a… Continue

A roller... coaster day

I woke up with a low and a migraine. Didn't think I had over treated, but jumped to...258..then correction bolus. Dropped again to 52...now 3 hours later 213! Oh how I hate days like today!!!! I have only treated with 3 sugar tabs for my lows. Guess I better think about changing my infusion site too. :-( Things can only get better. Right???

The end of a pretty good day

Considering my mostly inactive day my sugars have been mostly good. I ate well today which always helps too. I need to stick to a good diet and not give in to the wrong foods that can oh so tempt me. I managed to start using my ankle some today. I am so glad to be able to move more without crutches. I got a ride to Whole Foods and hobbled to the salad bar and made a great salad with spinach, mixed baby greens, chicken, carrots, cucumbers and garbanzo beans I added a small bit of their Greek vine… Continue

It is amazing how many of my non diabetic friends which is what most my friends are...until now. :-) think that I have it SO together regarding diabetes. Hmmm if only. Some days I do some days I do not. I am not to sure what kind of day today is. I have had an unexplained high, but I bolused for that and it is coming down. I have been housebound this week due to a sprained ankle, but am starting to put some weight o… Continue

Sounds like a crazy day. Mine was too, busy and hot as hell inside cuz the heat is on and it still nice outside. But once they turn on the systems in these huge facilities you can just shut it down. I'd be careful with animals and those plastic shopping bags. My cat would chew on them and got blocked up from the plastic and I know 2 other people whose pets ate those bags. I am much more a cat person and miss that warm furry body next to me but my husband doesn't want to do the pet thing again now. Altho Keith wants to get a cat at his apt at school but would have to bring it here on school breaks and weekends. It would be like my "Grandcat",lol. I will be in Philly all day Saturday then leaving to visit Samantha. Maybe stay the night, not sure yet. Would love to spend time with you if possible.

yes, he said only use polysporin. he also said it was fine for me to use my EMLA cream for numbing my sites before site changes. i think this stuff is the greatest stuff ever!

We are also going to get a frost tonight. Hey, are you in the new Group for PA diabetics? tell me if you want to join and can't find it. a few of them are going to meet up at the event LeeAnn is doing for World Diabetes Day in Philly. It's so much fun to meet other TuD members in person. LeeAnn is one I'd really like to meet.

I don't think I could deal with the responsibilities of dog ownership right now. I just want to run my hands through that soft fur, and hear all his different little woofs (Elkhounds are known for having their own vocabulary).

Amy,

It's nice to hear from another long time diabetic. This is the view from my upstairs bedroom in Mukilteo over looking to Widbey Island across part of Puget Sound. I have so many great sunsets and I only take a picture of a few

yes, they are out, actually, they fell out the night before my appt. Things improved mightily when I stopped using the neosporin. when it says don't use it more than a week, they mean it. I'm back on another steroid cream, and also CereVe moisurizer - a very good mild one. He said he prescribes it for kids w/ eczema.

I saw a Norwegian Elkhound the other day while we were driving. I wanted my husband to turn the car around but he wouldn't. I still miss my Archie.
