i found you guys on google just searching for people like me with type one diabetes,
I am angelica and i am 19 years old and i have diabetes type 1/Diabetes mellitus. wich also turnbs into hyperglycemia because of the insulin intake. umm my story is proabably pretty simillar to every other kid out there. Diabetes runs in both maternal and faternal sides of my families. but yet when i got diagnosed i had no idea what it was. i started to lose alot of weight in a matter of 2 weeks i lost like 15 pounds or more. i was drikign anything and eating anything all the time yet lossing so much weight. i also devolped a white thing cape on my tounge that made my mouth tasted sweet all the time wich made me thirsty. that was cause because my body used it as a last resort to get sugar. when i went to my pediatician ( i was 156 so still a child) at the time he automtically knew what i had and gave me a urine test. then he came in with the news that i was diabetic. he told me i could go home and was taken to the emergency room with sugars over 800 the doctors were amzed i was still talking and walking. i spent 1 wwek in the hospital my first time, the y teached me everything there is to know about diabetes. i cried so much when i found out exactly what it was and the obtacles it was gonna bring to my life. but yea i have many mpre stories about my diabetes. I used to always cry for the first few months asking god why he gave me diabetes and dreading things. but then i realized that im just a normal teen and i can over come diabetes by taking care of myself as fas as watching what i eat , taking my shots, chexking my blood sugars etc. sure it wont ever go away but i can live with it. because theres people out there with cancer , tumnors and all kinds of horrible things. thank god i only have diabetes and by taking on day at a time i can over come it. ask emquestions , give me input i have so much more to learn ..
What do you do for a living?
i am a Special Ed Teachers Aid.
