Hi Anngelia! My name is Patti Lopez and I'm the Ambassador for the Austin Region. I will be deciding in the next two weeks if I will be able to finance a trip to Dallas to meet with Melissa.

My goal is to see first hand how you two organise for the groups to meet and other ideals to take back to Austin to show how this and such is doing well and how we should have a sister ideal as well in Austin.

Or if you two are having something special like a meet up let me know when the days are so that I can get some vacation days to be able to travel and stay overnight as well to maybe have a get together over dinner.

Congradulations on being the new Ambassador and I hope to meet you real soon and take some awesome pics with you and Melissa.

So take care, and stay strong. Patti

I do have the book "Pumping Insulin" that the comments suggested. I was geared to test them this evening. I ate lunch and planned to wait the suggested five hours and begin testing. I was 178 two hours post lunch and was a little surprised by that. But I didn't bolus since I was going to start testing basals in a few hours. I figured it would drop by the time I started. When I got off work it was 306. I bolused and wited about 30 minutes and tested again. 346! I had a bad infusion set or site. So now I'm nursing my sugar back done, trying not to overcorrect and just waiting that long wait. I am feeling a little better. I HATE that.

I think it is these very things that make me put off basal testing. I'm going on a 20 mile bike ride in morning so that won't be a good day to test them either.

You have an awesome A1c btw. Congrats. We all know the work behind the numbers. My control had been pretty smooth for some time but seems to have hit a bump the last few weeks. I think it is time to test the basals.......which I hate to do!!

Ok...my bad Anngelia. I'm stilling getting used to the format of this website and didn't notice your comment before I sent you the message. I started in 1974 so sounds like we missed each other. Wow.....I'm not sure I have ever met someone who didn't know the EXACT date of dx. It may actually be a good thing now that I think about it. Good to meet you!!
