Hi Armand! I saw one of your replies to a discussion about the one touch ultra link and had a question. I am actaully also from Canada, Sarnia, (my parents are actually from windsor...small world) any ways i am switching from my cozmo to a medtronic pump. Does the Bayer meter work with the medtronic pump just like the one touch meter does? i noticed it said to on the bayer website but couldn't find anything on the medtronic website. thanks for your help Morgan

Hi Armand.I am applying for the Government grant for pump supplies.Because you work for the government I thought I would ask you,Do you know how long the process takes in order to get accepted?I am out $453.71 for my pump supplies that the insurance didn't pay because I ordered my supplies after the grant came into effect.I will probably need more soon so we will be out $907.41I hope it doesn't take long.

Hi Armand,
I noticed your comment on the ThinkTank and wanted to ask if you knew the dimensions of the bag from Medtronic that didn't work for you.

We're actually looking into designing a messenger type bag that will essentially carry everything that any person with diabetes should need on a daily basis, and right now we're looking for input on features and dimensions. If you have any info for us to help us get it right we would certainly appreciate it.

And if you have a specific suggestion that we use you'll get 25% off of that item for the life of it on our website...just to say thanks.

Have a wonderful 4th of July***

Hi Armand.. i've got a deal to strike with you possibly.. cuz i 'm in the US resident/MMOL user category and this switcheroo with the units of measurements on the new Link meter -as well as pretty much ALL meters in the USA has me very aggravated. Via devious means, i've managed to aquire a UltraSmart from Canada to calm my nerves, lol and i do love this ultrasmart but unfortunately, it does not communicate with my minimed pump!...i've gotta check with my insurance to see if they cover bayer contourLink test stripts.. if they do, then i might like to aquire a CountourLink Meter from you in exchange for a UltraLink Meter... though the UltraLink Meters are not quite out to public Market for purchase availability just yet. so you may have to wait on it a bit... well unless you can hog one off of ebay from somebody willing to part with their premarket distribution one aquired from minimed... in anycase, keep in touch ok! =)
(and btw to comment on Jose's post, i have no problems with test stripts i get here in US when using it in UltraSmart Meter(mmols) from Canada so i don't immagine you should have any real problems vice versa)...
Jose is correct in saying that the UltraLink only gives readings in MG, not in MMOLs. this is the reason i can't use IT or and Meters sold in the USA for that matter. ugh! it really is frustrating this abolition of univerasal units of measurments in glucose meters that has taken over the united states in the last few years.

Hi Armand. I wanted to answer your question regarding the One Touch Ultra Link and why it's not available in Canada. Medtronic chose to create an alliance w/Lifescan only in the U.S. Everywere else, including Canada, Medtronic created a partnership w/Bayer. So, if you were to get a One Touch Ultra Link for your pump, you would still have to get test strips from the U.S. because the One Touch Ultra Link utilizes the same test strips as other One Touch Ultra meters, but it reads blood glucose in (mg), not (mmol) like in Canada. So you would not get accurate results. However, if it does read in (mg) then you would be o.k.
