Thanks for the hints. Eatting more protien has helped. My Dr increased my insulin to carb ratio for breakfast which has made the post-breakfast curve much smoother.

When I was pregnant, I avoided fruit at breakfast and increased my basal rates to cover in the morning. It seemed to help. You're not far along enough to be having the hormones fighting the insulin. My kiddos are 5, 8 and 11. Type 1 pregnancies a...

Sometimes TuDiabetes is a godsend...

This is the only place I can go to share what's really going on with my diabetes and have several people really get it.

Today is one of those days when having Type 1 makes me feel so isolated. I had to leave work at lunch today because my blood sugar was 371!! due to a leaking infusion set. I felt nausus and headed to the bathroom to use my usual toliet paper on the infusion set routine. (It's the only way that I can tell if it's leaking if my set is in a spot that I can't see.) Then I had to p… Continue

No, I'm not. But I'd like to be soon.

A few weeks ago I went in for my 3 month check up with my Endo. My A1C rocked at 6.1! My doc wasn't nearly as excited as I was. He was worried that I may be running myself too low and increasing my risk for hypoglycemic unawareness. Then he asked if I was pregnant or planning trying to become pregnant. Apparently diabetic women have been known to sub-conciously run their numbers tight when they're thinking about getting pregnant.

Duh! Why wouldn't we, when we've been told to get it to 6.0 to av… Continue

I feel like crap!

I'm taking an early lunch break at work.
My blood sugar was 34, I ate some yogurt and now I'm at 42. Just ate 2 g-tabs and currently feel like I'm going to throw up. Bleh!

I'm slightly shakey but my mind is clear. Which is good because I've been answering Medicaid policy questions for the past 1/2 hour. And I'm getting a call about another from our hearings coordinator.

Got to go.

wow...DIE-a-bet-es!

Emphasis on the "Die".
One of my co-workers down the hall in the ISD (super tech) department didn't know I was diabetic until friday.
I actually found our whole coversation humerous because I was in a laid back mood.

His name is Davis and we joke around alot. I'm always picking on him because he likes Sponge Bob.
Here are some actual quotes from our convo:
"I didn't know you were diabetic. Wow. The things we take for granted"(picture his dumb founded pity look here)

"Yep. But I have to say I l… Continue

All about the numbers or is it?

I had my 3 month check in with my endo on wednesday. (He's great. I recomment him to anyone living in the Phoenix Metro area.) We did the normal review. A1c now at 6.3! Previously 6.7. Blood pressure down, 120/70, colesteral good, eyes excellent. All in all, the kind of Dr's visit everyone wants to have everytime they go to see their endo.

Then I started thinking about the numbers, why do I get such a thrill over being a certian "number" on my A1c or on my meter? Why are good days and

Autumn,
I am doing ok. We are currently fighting out landlord to get our ac fixed here. Looks like we are going to have to pursue legal action against him to get his act together. I am also getting ready to leave town next week and go spend probably 2 weeks in TN with a friend of mine. As far as the counseling, I haven't gotten in with a counselor. Recovery from surgery is great, the surgeon released me a week after surgery, I am not having any pain anymore and the throwing up has stopped I was experiencing before I had my gall bladder out. Now I am fighting with the non sticky infusion sets since this is my first summer on the pump. Hope you are doing great.

Hi Autumn; thanks for answering me about the groups. What denomination are you? I was raised Catholic but 5 years ago I got saved and I am in the Assembly of God church, Pentecostal, it is so much different and better because now I really know The Lord Jesus. I have been diabetic, type 1 for almost 31 years and take 5 shots daily, Lantus and Humalog, I do have hypoglycemia unawareness which seems to be getting better. How about you? I am 48 years old, married and have 2 children who also, follow the Lord!
