This event was started as a facebook page 2 years ago by Charmaine Phillips, the older sister of a teen with type 1 .The idea is to create awareness of diabetes by writing the word "HOPE" on your hand, or knuckles so that people will ask "what's up with the random word on your hand?"This year (2011) there are 647 who have said they will be participating!
