Low BS but not hungry.....what do I do??

What do YOU do when your BS is low and you are not hungry? There have been several occassions when I have found that my BS is low and I need to take in some food but I am not hungry and don't want to eat unnecessary calories. If this happens to you, what do you do to carry you over until the next meal? Sometimes I use this opportunity to drink Orange Juice, which is something I NEVER have because of the sugar content. Milk also makes my BS spike! I might be answering my own question here but…See More

Swimming in Insulin

Posted on May 5, 2010 at 7:58am 10 Comments

I have often wondered if I would be a good candidate for the pump but no one has ever explained it to me. They just keep shoving insulin my way... I wake up with numbers in the 150's most days, sometimes a little higher. I take shots of Levimir, 60 units in the morning and 60 units at bedtime. I also use the Novolog stick pen during the day, as needed. I have peripheral neuropathy in my feet that hurts like HELL. I take 800mg of Neurotin daily for the pain along with a Vitamin B complex and…

Pain Pain Go Away

Posted on April 20, 2010 at 9:45am 13 Comments

I fall asleep each night in pain, I wake up in pain every morning. Is this any way to live? The pain is the kind that has no name. I t can not be described in a word or even in a feeling or even in an emotion. It's just pain, pain in my feet. I want the pain to go away. I want it to leave this world from the tips of my toes into eternity and to never ever come back. Not after me, nor anyone, not even my ememies. Pain is no ones friend but it is everyone's enemy. For some reason I have…

Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy, OUCH!

Posted on August 10, 2009 at 1:59pm 3 Comments

MY FEET WON'T STOP HURTING!!!! So I am taking a few different meds and a OTC cream to help but they still hurt like hell. Here is my newest problem though, my legs twitch in the evenings as I am winding down for bed. As I am laying on the couch or in bed watching TV just chilling out my legs have this uncontrollable electric shock feeling that make them twitch. Its crazy as all get out and I can't stop it. Sometimes it starts as early as during dinner and I can feel them under the table begin… Continue

Lyrica and weight gain

Posted on April 17, 2009 at 6:50am 10 Comments

So I am now looking into the fact (or myth) that Lyrica causes people to gain a significant amount of weight. Since taking it myself I have noticed a increase in my weight which I don't need. I lost about 50 pounds two years ago and have managed to keep it off until this Lyrica came along. Bummer huh? I just added Cymbalta to help with my neuropathy pain and the depression I am experiencing along with it. Only on day two of the Cymbalta so I don't have anything to say about that as of yet. Just… Continue
