Weight loss surgery has changed my life forever! Since having the gastric sleeve surgery earlier this year, I IMMEDIATELY stopped taking a handful of my diabetic prescriptions, including ALL of my insulins.
The only prescription I am currently taking is 2mg of Gabapentin at night, that's it! I'm waking up with a fasting bg of about 95 right now so I'm thinking I may change to 1mg fairly soon. I'm hoping by January 2014 I will be medication/insulin FREE!!!!

I have often wondered if I would be a good candidate for the pump but no one has ever explained it to me. They just keep shoving insulin my way... I wake up with numbers in the 150's most days, sometimes a little higher. I take shots of Levimir, 60 units in the morning and 60 units at bedtime.
