So I just found a book called "The Belly Fat Cure" in my room the other day. I completely forgot I had this book, I have even looked for it a few times and thought I lost it. Anyway it's a neat book, Jorge Cruise is the author. His website is www.jorgecruise.com and I thought you might find this interesting. I think I am going to try and eat this way the best I can. I work with The Arc of Florida. We are a non profit organization that advocates for people with disabilities. We're the state wide chapter and we have about 40 other chapters through out the state of Florida that actually provide services. My office is small, there is just 3 of us and we do more advocating. We go to a lot of meetings, applying for grants, getting bills written and passed, etc. I love what I do! We are in session right now, that is when we practically live up at the Capitol b/c we are in meetings ALL the time ...( FAIL )... and we track the status of our bills that we have been trying to get passed. Today was our Legislative Day. We had over 900 people show up to support our event and help the disabled community. It was a long, exhausting day but it was well worth it! Now that today is over work shouldn't be so hectic. What do you do? I see that you're a graphic designer, my husband is a web application developer ... you both have that computer/technology thing going on :P I wish I was more computer smart LOL

The angel food cake or pound cake is something we have in the US. It's usually in the bakery or frozen food section. It is a pre-made cake. I have never actually made the cake but you can google recipes for strawberry shortcake and there are plenty that will tell you how to make it from scratch.

I am thrilled for you and your girlfriend and your new kitten! That breed is so pretty and really neat! Is is a girl or boy and what did you name it? Kittens are so playful, enjoy it!!! My in-laws are coming up to visit this weekend. I'm excited, it will be great to see them and enjoy a relaxing weekend. This is totally random but do you like vegetables? Do you like portobello mushroom caps, asparagus, green beans? I have some good recipes :)

I am soOOoOo sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I am usually on here multiple times a day but I have been swamped!!! Work has been crazy since we are in session and practically living at the Capitol while we track our bills to see if they got passed or not. We have our Legislative Day this Wednesday and all of our meetings on Tuesday. Once Thursday comes around it should calm down in the office. Thank goodness this only happens once a year :)

I am definitely going to ask my endo about the memory pen. My apt is on April 5ht so I'll let you know what he says about it.

Ok, the strawberry shortcake is a recipe that I tweaked a bit to make it more diabetic friendly. I buy a sugar free pound cake or angel food cake (which ever one is available in the bakery at that time) Then I buy fresh strawberries and cool whip for the topping. I clean the strawberries and slice half of them. I put the other half of the strawberries into a bowl with some splenda and mix them together until the strawberries are pretty much in a jam consistency. Then I slice my cake, pour the strawberry mixture over the cake, add the cool whip and then put some of the sliced strawberries on top of the cool whip :) It's delicious and low sugar. I don't buy fat free cool whip b/c anything that is fat free they add more sugar to make up for the lack of taste. Since I watch my sugar intake more than my fat, it benefits me but it's really a personal preference. I hope I explained that well, let me know if you and your girlfriend like it :) I love it but that is one of me weakness HAHA

My weekend was pretty nice, low key and relaxing. My husband and I grilled out and the weather has been lovely so we are starting our garden back up (it's more of my husband's thing since I can't keep a plant alive HAHA). We also love putting puzzles together so we worked on one this weekend. We finished it tonight and we will probably start a new one. Did you have a nice weekend? How is your work week going?

I've been on the pump for 9 days now, and I can't get over how fantastic it is to be able to sleep at night without bottoming out at 3 am and waking up groggy and miserable from dawn phenomenon. I was never able to achieve these numbers using MDI. I'm not sure what a memory pen is...maybe you can enlighten me. Nice to meet you.
