Bill Quick replied to Leata's discussion 'Using sensors for longer than a week? How to' in the group Dexcom Users
"Some additional points to make: 1) The G4 will display a warning message several hours before it's due to stop the sensor, so you can plan to stop it manually at a time that's more convenient for you to wait 2 hours and recalibrate (rather…"

Bill Quick replied to Nicole Olie's discussion 'Do you use a dexcom sensor and a MM pump?' in the group Dexcom Users
"Hi, Nicole. I have been using a Dexcom G4 CGM plus a MiniMed Paradigm Revel pump, and a One-Touch UltraLink meter. I calibrate the G4 manually with results from the UltraLink meter, and the meter wirelessly transmits the results to the pump. Both…"

Bill Quick replied to Amy's discussion 'In order for medicaid to pay for the G4, I have to go through a test' in the group Dexcom Users
"I would suggest you contact your CDE at Joslin about this. Interestingly, IPRO stands for two things which might be what the supplier is talking about: Island Peer Review Organization, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPRO, as well as Minimed's…"

Bill Quick replied to E. Louise's discussion 'Any Minimed and Dexcom G4 users?' in the group Dexcom Users
"I haven't used the Real-time, so can't comment on comparing it to the G4. I'm on a G4 and MMP pump, and happy with the combination. The two devices easily fit into a shirt pocket (that's a guy thing, I know). Since the G4 has a…"

Bill Quick replied to artwoman's discussion 'Any tips for going from the Seven+ to the Dex4?' in the group Dexcom Users
"Enjoy your new G4 -- IMHO it's definitely better than the 7+. The switch-over was a piece of cake; maybe if you have an extra 7+ sensor, continue to wear the 7+ when you start the new one. After a day or two, I said the heck with the 7+ and…"

Bill Quick replied to NatalieHodge's discussion 'Dex gone AWOL' in the group Dexcom Users
"I could go more than 2 weeks easily with my 7+, but with my G4, I can get about 2 weeks but rarely more before the ??? becomes ubiquitous. As far as I can recall, the G4 remains accurate until the ??? starts showing up, but I haven't tried to…"

Natasha Bowlds replied to Bill Quick's discussion 'Broken G4 "rail" (that keeps the USB sliding cover in place)' in the group Dexcom Users
"I agree - although by this point my son's dexcom has suffered the abuse of a 12 year old (although he's pretty careful I know it's fallen off his and my nightstands and he wears it while playing sports) the rail broke off while we…"

Clare replied to Bill Quick's discussion 'Broken G4 "rail" (that keeps the USB sliding cover in place)' in the group Dexcom Users
"I didn't do anything to my receiver. The door has just fallen off of it's own accord. I have the receiver securely on my belt in a tallygear case. I have not dropped the receiver either. And I too am very happy Dexcom is willing to replace…"
