Update to my vlog. Adding in exercise and I explain how I found motivation. I'm a type 2 diabetic who eats "mostly" raw food and trying out crossfit. I have been able to stop my insulin and have seen many problems go away.

How insulin can make you fat

Someone recently asked how insulin can make you fat. I'm not a doctor...but I've been obsessed with diabetes lol. Here is what I've learned:

We all know insulin is a hormone and escorts sugar into cells to be burned for energy.

However, not everyone knows that insulin has multiple functions. Some that can make you fat or make it easier to gain/retain weight. Some of it's other functions:

1) Signals for carb cravings.
2) Signals for fat to be retained and not be burned for energy.
3) Forces fa… Continue

Weight loss and fitness inspiration

I would paste my post in, but it contains graphics and videos, so I'll link to it in my other blog. It's a story of a girl I followed for over a year on YouTube and I watched her ups and downs. She has found something that works for her and is almost to her goal.

She tried Alli, Body for Life, home fitness, Weight Watcher's, kanga jumps, etc., etc. That is what we have to do sometimes, keep trying and trying until we find something that works. In my case, I found raw food. Gayle discovered the… Continue

Is there a cure for diabetes?

When I embraced the raw food diet, it was largely due to reading Dr. Gabriel Cousen's book which answered the question "is there a cure for diabetes" with, "There Is a Cure for Diabetes: The Tree of Life 21-Day+Program."

I have a very dear friend who has lost 65+ pounds the past 3-4 months also due to this book. Like me, she was on a lot of medications and had dangerously high blood pressure. We both lost weight, brought down our blood pressure and were able to stop our medications.

My blood s… Continue

Australia, Diabetes, and Mankinis....Oh My!

I was surfing one day on YouTube and ran into Graham's channel. At that time he was a 500-pound Australian who gained popularity on YouTube running around in a mankini and giving free hugs. Who could help but love him!? Hey, I wanted a free hug too!

I was pleasantly surprised to find he had subscribed to my channel and was interested in what I was doing. Wow! What an honor because he had become an inspiration to ME.

Graham was diagnosed with diabetes recently. He also realized that if an alien… Continue

What I've learned about gestational diabetes

I created my website in 2001 as a result of being very dissatisfied with my pregnancy experience with gestational diabetes. I was scared. I felt alone. I had a really hard time finding information.

When I made the site, I didn't think I would find many others like me, maybe a handful. Since then I've been overwhelmed not only with members and posts on the site but desperate emails sent to me by women with all types of diabetes - type 1, type 2, and women with gestational diabetes. I remember wh… Continue

Can you do a favor for me? I actually accidently got not only one, but two, Magic Bullets. I was hoping that my account would be depleted before they charged me for it, but no such luck!! I got one free except for shipping & handling and an extended 4-year extended warranty on both of them. I want to recover some money, but I'm not going to gouge anyone. Can you post this to one of those raw foods sites that I don't belong to?

Thanks.

No mine fingers mostly stayed swelled and they stay swelled all the time. Maily above the knuckle, they don't match the rest of the finger. LOL I have learned to live with it. They don't hurt but I don't like how they look. I would just like to take a vaccum and suck out all the bad stuff and leave all the good. Hmm I might not have much left though if I do that huh? LOL

You lucky duck, you. I never get anything for free! :o(

But, that sure sounds like what I want. Small, easy assembly, easy clean, easy storage.

Maybe if we behave really well, the Easter Bunny or Santa will bring me one! Ya Think?

I don't think it's going to come to pass. I couldn't find one at Target and the blenders/juicers, etc. were between $60 and $100. Too much for my blood this month.

I just bort back from shopping. Was out for 6 hours and now I am absolutely dead!!!

And I also WET! The lymphedema in the legs is just dripping fluid like crazy. I have resorrted to putting kotex pads on my legs, taping like crazy and covering them with two layers of Tubigrip (like a opaque support stocking. It soaked through while I was out!!!! I am really getting sick and tired of this Sh*t!

I got the cheapie tri-fold display boar and some purple and pink index cards for my new eating plan. Now I just have to figure out where to start!!!

Well, my fingers don't want to go any more. Gotta rest.

That is interesting, I feel like my stomach is actually swollen a lot. My Dr. said it probably is because my food sits in my stomach to long. I will check that site out. I was actually told I have lymphedema too. And that usually people only get this when they have alot of stomach surgery which I have not, so he can not figure out why I have it. It sucks. My hands swells so much.

I'm going shopping in about 1/2 hour. I think I'm going to buy a "Bullet." I don't know about making veggie juices, but I will do it with fruits. Fresh or frozen or both?

You know I feel like I am gaining just in the middle where I get my injections. It is making it hard to get shirts to fit right. I am busty and now I am gaining in the middle. I feel like never eating again. I know, I have to but I still feel like quitting. It is a nasty habit.LOL I gastroparesis to and I imagine that does not help with thing either. I am out of ideas on losing weight. I don't know what to do. So frustrated. You have a good night to sister. :)
