"Never had a CGM. How often do you have to finger stick a day once you are used to the CGM? Also how long do you keep the sensor on per time?"

Fast times....

Between being sick and 13 hour days at work I feel like I haven't had time to exist in the past two weeks. Bad pod a few days ago gave me some of my worst numbers in a year. I changed my Dex sensor and pod the same day and thought it was the G4 giving off readings. I've learned my lesson though, blame Omni :D So after an entire day struggling to keep under 200, I changed my pod at night, and voila. Next day was back down to 80 - 110 all day. I turn 35 in a few days (joy) so now starts the back…See More

What a week from hell. Not for me, but for everyone else. My son, sick. Went and had his flu shot on Monday and he's been home sick since with a slight fever, coughing and general sick-seven yearoldness. My dad has to go in for an angiogram on Friday and I've been pulling 15 hour days at work. Karate test is Friday night, I think at this point death by Mt. Dew and poptarts sounds like a tasty way to go :DSee More

Monday, Monday....

Well, it can't be any worse than Sunday was. At least number wise. I don't know if I rolled on it in my sleep or what, but I kinked the tube on my pod and ended up going to be Saturday night at 110 and waking up about 5 hours later at 320! I haven't that high in a long time and it felt like crap. My G4 I have set on quiet unless it's a low (which I have since changed) and didn't get an alert.I manually injected, but the entire day yesterday was a struggle to get back into range. Finally before…See More

A normal weekend :D

In almost all regards. No funky lows, no bad highs. I spent my entire day Saturday and most of Sunday in range. The only spike on my G4 for the entire weekend was about 2 hours after dinner (pasta) and then it settled back nicely to 85. Small victories, for 2 days this weekend I claim them!

Welcome to the family!! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of what you will learn is that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and vent to, if needed.
