Bob replied to AngelaC's discussion 'TSA IS Targeting Those With Prostheses and Medical Devices'
"On the last trip to Tucson, there wasn't a full body scan machine. On the Pittsburgh trip, there was, but I didn't get the pat down (maybe because it was only the first week of Nov)."

Bob replied to AngelaC's discussion 'TSA IS Targeting Those With Prostheses and Medical Devices'
"There were several people at the airport that requested the pat down instead of the scan so I think you can request that anyway. The TSA people were very accomodating - remember, they are people too. Funny part about the pat down requestors is that…"

Good morning Bob! I'd like to welcome you home with a delayed Christmas greeting....

I am happy that you are reading this and that you are a member of the growing TuDiabetes family.

Since the community was formed back in early 2007, lots of things have changed. Also since then, lots of new members have joined: we're now nearly 11,300 members. So, new members and new features means it never hurts to refresh how things work around the community.

If you haven't read it, I invite you to take a few minutes to go through our New Member Guide. If you have been a member for a while but have let a little dust accumulate on your TuDiabetes account, you will find it very useful. If you joined just recently, you will find it EVEN MORE handy.

If you don't find answers to a question you may have, never hesitate to ask. Click on the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page and one of the members of our Admin team (you can see their faces on the bottom right side of any page) will get back to you shortly.

Oh but we have a clever lad here! I usually scan the new members each night and invite them to join the Great Lakes Group, but you're already there. Very impressive.
I live in Minneapolis, where we are in for anywhere fom 12-20" of snow in the next 48 hours. Lovely.
Welcome to Tu Diabetes Rob. Nice to have you with us.
