I did call Minimed this morning. They walked me through the process of trying to pair the Pump with the Meter, and it continued to come up with the error number A64. It turns out the pump is still under warranty so I should receive a new one by 10...

Oh my, a tough road.... I agree with what is said here , especially Hector's suggestion ...this may not be the time to think PUMP , but use MDI ( is cheaper than pumping ) instead, till you have a handle on things , where finances are concerned . ...

Hello everyone, Some of you may know I lost my job back in July. We just got moved back to Texas a month ago. During that time I took my pump off and was just using shots, but lately my BG is too high. So here's the deal. The battery went dead in ...

Hi Bobby The most important thing is to keep your blood sugars on a good range 100, 120, and no more than 140, after eating. You can do that with multiple shoots or with your pump, if you are in a rush or complicated situation just try to relax c...

Bobby -- What rotten luck! Just take a deep breath and try to limit your focus to the things within your control. You will get through this. Please excuse the cliche; just try to take it one day at a time. Your situation must seem so overwhelming...

I Lost My Job

I just learned last Tuesday that I was being laid off from my job as a pastor. My heart is breaking, and I don't have a clue what we're going to do or where we're going to go. They gave me a half-way decent severence package, which includes insurance through the end of September. My Insulin costs nearly 1300 dollars for a 90 day supply. What if I don't have a job and insurance within 60 days? I have high blood pressure, an enlarged prostate, Hepatitis C, and sleep apnea. How in the world will I… Continue

I Want To Be Normal--Whatever That Is......

Hey Ya'll,
I've been staying away from TuDiabetes for the last 3 or 4 weeks. You see, I've sort of been on a binge, and I feel like a hypocrite. I was the one trying to encourage everyone and suddenly I found myself standing on the edge of the precipice wondering if maybe I should just step off. Not like suicide, you know, but like doing all the things I fight so hard not to do on a daily basis--which for a diabetic is really a slower form of suicide. I've just been tired of fighting. I want to… Continue

Kudos To Those Who Have Gone Before!

This is Ed & Vera Weldy, my parents. A beautiful couple wouldn't you say? He was born in 1921 and she was born in 1923. They both grew up during hard times during the Great Depression and the "Dirty Thirties." They truly knew what it was like to scrape and scrounge for everything t… Continue

Lean On Me.

I think this should be our theme song. I have read two different posts today from people who are struggling, and this song just popped into my head. I realized most of us are separated by miles and miles, but even here we can learn to lean on each other.
So anyway, this video and the outstanding song is for all of you out there who are having a diffcult time. I hope it lifts your spirits, and in a spiritual sense causes you to reach out and join hands with the rest of us o… Continue

Nephropathy: Kidney Damage, Am I the Only One?

I went to my Dr. yesterday and discovered I have Diabetic Nephropathy, which is kidney disease. I have been retaining water for quite some time which shows up in the swelling of my feet and lower legs. What's really weird is my left leg is worse than my right leg, much worse. They also did a test that deteremined that I have a condition called Microalbuminuria. It is the presence of protein which is normally found in the blood and filtered by the kidneys, which means my kidneys are damaged becau… Continue
