Hey Brad, The good news is that coffee is always on the acceptable diabetic diet list even if chocolate is not. Keep your chin up and don't worry about learning everything at once. It's a gradual process. Grace

Good news

It's been a while since I've been on this site for various personal reasons (it's nothing against any of the great people here). I've been trying to deal with my diabetes on my own over the past few months, and with a good mix of success and failure. I've been taking my medication as prescribed, I've been avoiding too many carbs, but I'm still not exercising and I'm very slack about using my glucometer.

Today it comes down to time

Today I realized that because it has been over a month since I was diagnosed, I've gotten used to this whole diabetes thing. During the first two or three weeks after I was diagnosed, as I saw nurses and dieticians and endocrinologists and pharmacists, this new aspect of my being was at the forefront of my mind. Hi guys

Hello there everyone. I guess I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Brad, I'm a 22 year old undergrad student at UBC here in Vancouver. (That sounded like the kind of introduction students give on College Week on Wheel of Fortune, didn't it?)
