I have a legal question to send out. I've been uninsured for 3 yrs. plus going to college. I finished school not long ago and am going for my first job. I have been asked to bring in my latest a1c result (definitely less than optimal because of being uninsured) and doctor's notes. Does anyone know if a less than wonderful a1c can allow the workplace to not hire me?

I'm trying to get approved by my new companies physician and he wants a recent a1c, my other labs and doctor's office notes. Problem is is that I'm not insured and have limited time to be seen. I'm on a waiting list for a low cost clinic in my area, but it won't be in time. Any suggestions on what to do?

I've officially been a diabetic for 17 years now, more than my younger siblings have been alive. No complications even though I haven't always taken great care of myself. Hope to add a few more decades...

This basically turned into a rant, but I hope someone enjoys.
“The Unseen Disease”
We live with a disease that does have a name, but many people just want to ignore it. Maybe it reminds them of a lost family member or reminds them that good health is not always a guarantee, that we humans are human. It does not show on the outside, except once in a great while, and oftentimes even our families forget or never know what it’s truly like. The media occasionally mentions us, but…

Jacob's mom said… Hi brianna, welcome to tu i think you will really benefit from joining the group. i read your comment to laura about growing up with diabetes and having the attitude that no one else could relate to what you were dealing with. my son feels that way and as much as i try to support him he has his down days ( a fair share of really good day where diabetes in under control and not in the forefront so to speak) but when he is down he says i cant relate and nothing i say seems to work, i know i need to step back and let him grow dealing with his own issues ( he is 13) but it is trying as a parent to see him sad. any words of wisdom from the other side of teen hood with diabetes. it sounds like you are doing well. i love your birds! are they love birds? wishing you well, amy
