Tell us more about you (optional)
I was diagnosed with Type 1 at age 7 in 1998 (I'm 21 now). I'm going into my senior year of college at the University of Delaware and am getting my degree in Elementary/Middle School Education. I used MDI for a year after diagnosis, then switched to minimed pumping for about 12 years. I started on the omnipod system last summer (August 2011). Since coming to college I've struggled a lot with keeping my blood sugar under control and lost a lot of motivation to keep myself healthy. After getting hit with a A1C over 8, I realized my body was begging me to get my act together!! I'm now working hard to stay motivated and get my blood sugar back into a healthy range. The progress so far has been slow but heading in the right direction and I'm really hoping to get my A1C to at least 6.5 by the end of the year.
