I actually like having diabetes....most of the time =)

dx'd at 15 middle of 9th grade.
started pumping at 17 middle of 11th grade.
do volunteer work when I can (mostly diabetes stuff, sometimes not).
I want to be a nurse for a living.
Maybe I will work with diabetic kids....maybe not too.
We will see =)

finally, a new GOOD doctor!!!!

I was dx'd with type 1 just after my 15th birthday in 9th grade. Almost 9 years ago. Up till last year I was still seeing the same pediatric endo I had always been seeing because she was AMAZING. They finally kicked us (there were a bunch of us over 18 still seeing her) out of the children's hospital last August (so a year ago). I was so sad! School year started today

so today was the first day of school. I am teaching pre-K this year. So far so good got a few kids that are going to be a handful! But I am looking forward to it! yay!

I still have 2 weeks before I start school myself. I can't wait to be done with college.

and to tie diabetes into this, I am going to do a set change now =)

Auto immune diseases SUCK!

I have really bad acid reflux. I had surgery to correct it when I was 17. That was 6 years ago. The surgery typically only lasts about 5 years before patients are back on reflux meds or have to have the surgery again. Over the past year I have been having reflux again, and over the past 3 months it has been bad.



I went to the GI doctor today (a new one) and he is going to do ANOTHER endoscopy on me, get an ultra sound of my stomach (because it hurt when he put the slightest pressure… Continue

sick days SUCK. I have been battling a flu type bug since Friday. Today was the first day, around 10pm tonight, that I finally had a sugar reading under 200. I HATE SICK DAYS.
