Can't Believe the Improvement in my Blood Sugars!

HelloI have to share the fact that against my Drs. recommendations, I'm splitting my Lantus and can't believe the improvement in my blood sugars.I have not had good control for over 10 years now and my 7.2 A1C was achieved because of my constant highs and lows, nothing stable. My experience has been that most Drs. don't understand how different Type 1's are, but I see that things are changing to the better for us.Last month I had 2 nighttime lows in the 20's and my Dr continued to try and…See More

"I split my dose between morning and evening so I'm always about 12 hours between shots. My endo approves this and makes sure I have syringes for 2 shots daily. It's just a matter of convincing doctors that we know what we need... :)"

On insulin pens 8 U Lantus and 1 to 15 card ratio. My Dr. wants me on the pump, too many dangerous lows,(20's twice last month, comes on at night) hypo unaware and insulin sensitivities. Hypothyroidism. Want to exercise but can't stop my sugars from plummeting after, hard to keep the weight off when you have to constantly feed your lows.

Welcome to the family! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of all you will learn that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and even to vent to, if needed. Welcome home.
