My Almost- Valentine's Day Anniversary

Today is my 12 year anniversary of being diagnosed with Type 1. That's right - I was diagnosed the day before Valentine's day in the 5th grade.

At the time, my mother was a fourth year medical student. This turned out to be quite lucky, as she caught my symptoms relatively quickly, and I didn't have to be hospitalized. I remember that my blood sugar was in the low 300's, and I hadn't yet gone into DKA. I learned how to give my shots and test my blood sugar, and then they sent me home.

Yes, It looks like where you live is the complete opposite end of the state (from Memphis)... Someday I would love to drive the Appalachian Trail... sounds fun to me!

yeah i do want to get onboard again with insurance and all. i just really HATE that pesky PRE-EXISTING CONDITION mess, where i have to wait a whole year til ill be covered for being a diabetic

i appreciate all your kindness and help!
yeah i found a free clinic and they helped me get my hands on some Apidra and Lantus i just have to get back into the habit of taking shots again
