Great news!
When I was pregnant, I avoided fruit at breakfast and increased my basal rates to cover in the morning. It seemed to help. You're not far along enough to be having the hormones fighting the insulin.

I have no advice for you, but hang in there. I'm sure you're upset at the diagnosis, but hopefully the medication will help you with the pain.
For my most recent pump, I just installed the batteries and messed around with the thing. But for my first 2, I had to go through "training", which was aggravating the 2nd time, as I knew more about it than the trainer. And my doc's office wanted ...
I see nothing wrong with screenings as long as such information is not obtained by insurance companies. I'm sure many people would be apprehensive to allow a screening if they thought their insurance company could use the information against them ...

You should be proud of yourself! Did you get a blue ribbon from your doc? We rarely get the congrats from our docs, but we sure hear about our screw ups!

13 years of diabetes
Today is the 13th anniversary of my diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. It seems a lifetime ago. So much has happened since 1996, I've had 3 children, I've lived with a chronic illness, I've learned more about insurance companies and the nonsense they like to pull on people. Things I never dreamed I'd deal with or experience.

That's how I always had to refer to myself. There aren't a whole lot of Cara's in my town. A few Kara's, but like you said, it's not spelled right. LOL

Sandra burke said… - Hi Cara, I too had some problems and was unable to attend. I have arthritis and have rods and pins in my back and both knees replaced and plates and screws in my feet and a shoulder replacement. When we have these drastic weather changes it causes me unable to walk or stand. In fact I ended up at the hospital ER because of my back and spent the day and evening there. I feel horrible that I couldn't go after I had said that I would go and at least sign the book for us all at tudiabetes. It made me very sad not to fulfill my duty.
