Introduction

Thanks to Nel Peach for inviting me here.

I know Nel through the Canadian Diabetes Association, in which we both play many volunteer roles. I am on the CDA's National Advocacy Committee and Young Adults Advocacy Team. These advocacy efforts are both challenging and rewarding as we work to heighten the awareness of diabetes among governments, healthcare systems and the public.

Aside from being an advocate and volunteer, I am a freelance journalist, photographer, entrepreneur, runner, cyclist, a… Continue

Carey - just saw your comment on my page now after I'd replied to you below. Are you needing a place to stay? If you are - PM me - and maybe we can work something out - ok?

LOL Carey - we are twins in many thingss (wine, HATE MATH, photography). Thanks for the friends invite! Have added you on toot sweet. I am diabetic mentor, help kids alot with dealing with diabetes, having been one myself (mini werewolf). Isn't it great that there are places like this for us to come to and let our hair down? I'm a late bloomer to this sort of thing - having only discovered it after going onto the pump - and needing some advise as to "how to use it properly" - as there are few diabetic educators in my province that could help me (I don't understand French very well). Between this site and others, I'm relearning diabetes again and sharing their knowledge with others around our big blue marble! So, take care, keep on cycling, raising awareness, yadda, yadda, yadda!

Carey, welcome home to Penticton ...I hope you know , that I raised my glass ( so to speak ) , while on the high seas and you were in Salmon Arm ..I am somewhat disappointed, that not more invitees ( pumpers , fam. and others ) were at the bbq to meet all of you , including Chris Jarvis .I certainly feel ,that I missed out .So much to do , so little time :-) ...sleep well , N.

Hey Carey, I agree it was awsome meeting you on your way through T.Bay. When I told my daughter about all of you she thought it would be great to be apart of cyclebetes next year. Even though she can't ride a bike at the moment she wants to be apart of it next year. I really enjoyed the evening with all of you and left with so much information and it was a really great thing. I even went on facebook and watched the video's including the one you did from the KOA! What a hoot! Loved the smores comments. I wouldn't have the selfcontrol, I'd have to have at least one. :)

Keep in touch.
