doing the time warp! after 2 years, decided to ditch the pod for a day and get back to shooting up...so weird!!

I had a box where every 3rd pod would fail during priming (screeching before the 2 beeps), which was VERY annoying, but at least Insulet replaces them immediately. Had that happen only once this box. I don't usually have failures while it's on me...

my skin hates the pod! the only way i can prevent intense itching and red bumpiness is to not use anything (no alcohol, no skintac, etc) and just stick it right on. and right after i take it off, i use this cortaid stick from cvs, which kills any ...

I wouldn't wait for them to call, call them today! I have the same situation and haven't had any real problems, it's pretty much the same as dealing with Insulet. Sarah at Edgepark has always been really helpful, she is the 'durable medical supply...

that's me

Hello! I'm Carly, and I am a 20-something who has had Type 1 for 13 years. In fall of '07 I started on an insulin pump for the first time. I chose the OmniPod, and I'm very glad I did! I had worked so hard to get my A1c to 6.8 with Lantus and Humalog, with multiple lows each day, and now have a 6.1 with fewer lows and so much less math!! I haven't met too many Type 1's in real life since Diabetes Camp in 8th grade, so it's very nice to be here!

I am also a Graphic Designer and do digital photography photography, dig indie and classic rock, coffee, bikes, Kurt Vonnegut, sugar-free Red Bull, and humor intended for 14 year old boys.

Hi Carly, I am very close to PU - walking distance - just to be clearer. Anywho, I was diagnosed in '96 too although I was 20. I am also using the omnipod and love it. Just thought I say a hello...

Hey Carly---I lived in Princeton for a couple years about 1969-71. Taught at a ballet school. My brother and my daughter's father went to Princeton. We actually lived in in an old farmhouse outside of Lambertville, but I loved Princeton proper....Your bio makes me happy....Be well.....Judith in Portland

Hi Carly - thanks for the add! I see you're also a fan of macs (have an old iBook myself) and Bret Michael's quest for lovin' (but will it last? I'm expecting season three to be announced any day now).

It's kind of funny - my husband is a 3D artist and did a spinning 3D 'P' for Princeton basketball scoreboard a while back. (They also requested for it to be flaming, for what ever reason).

Love your blog!:)

Carly, we actually live very close to each other. My home is just off Blue Spring road. Blue Spring connects through River Road to Route 27 in Kingston. That's the route we take to get to the nearest Target/Best Buy.

I actually live in the Princeton "area". LOL. I live in the "Princeton" zip code of Skillman ( Montgomery Township ) about 3 miles from the university. It seems every town (Plainsboro, Lawrenceville, West Windsor, Franklin Park, Kendall Park ) with a 5 mile radius of the university has a Princeton address.
