I have a square of Lindt 85% dark chocolate every day. For medicinal purposes only of course! Flavanoids and such like that are supposed to be good for us. 3 carbs per square . And it satisfies the craving for chocolate.

I got my shot on Friday. I was wondering... did the shot affect your blood sugars at all? Mine did. I also got a little sick from the shot... maybe that's why I got higher-than-usual blood sugar readings??

Good news for us chocolate lovers. Cocoa has shown to have positive effect on the epithelial cells in the arteries and improves the production of nitric oxide (NO) in the arteries.

There's a neat restaurant in uptown Waterloo called "Whole Lot-A Gelata" owned by one of the teachers at the school and her husband who's a chef...aside from what the name says, they make great wraps....and across the street, nothing other than...Starbucks!! (though I prefer Timmy's!!)
We didn't make it, my son and his family slept in....besides, I'm still run down from my bout with pneumonia (little steps!!)
Take care, luv....linda.

Hi Carol,
I am afraid I have to agree with you, in my instance anyway...think it is different for all. But no matter what I try, I can't get control. The best was when I was on sick leave for 9 months, to start new insulin regime, and have the rest of my teeth pulled, and get dentures, thanks to gingivitis (another Diabetic complication)...but better than losing eyesight or limbs or liver...etc). But even with my complete time and focus being on controlling my Diabetes, any little variation, such as stress (good or bad), exercise, and it was out of whack. It seems now, anytime it is relatively normal, around 7, I know it will just drop to below 4, at any time, even from running down the stairs or something. I am frustrated with unDiabetic people and health care professsionals that always seem to blame the diabetic for poor control, they have no idea. I once asked my Diabetic Nurse if she ever run across a Diabetic (insulin taking) that was able to keep it in control between 5 and 7 or even 5 and 10, and she admit that no she hadn't.Whew! glad to get that off my chest....and yes I struggle and always will with Depression, my Mom was severly Bi-Polar, and I am greatful for just the depression side of it too, proper meds makes all the difference, but yes it comes and goes and requires constant maintenance, so keep plugging away. I believe there are so many people out there that have it worst, so I am grateful for what I have now, and try to live one day at a time, as I know Diabetes is probably going to take me down, before my time, so live, love, and prosper today!

Told you so...... Lindt doesn't make any bad chocolate . I know it seems like a strange combo ,chili and chocolate but I glad someone thought of it. Those Aztec's were sure smart. And I bet it 's high in anti-oxidants and flavoniods.
I have tried the orange some time back . Can't say that it stood out in my mind. I'll have to try it again . I also like the mint one.

Hi Carol,

Tried to email you, but there still seem to be some email issues. As far as older messages go, if you go to the bottom of the page, you should see some numbers. Click on a number to go back that many pages in history. The larger the number, the further back it is.

Please let us know if you still are having trouble finding something in particular.

Thanks,
