I don't have a CGM, but I have heard from other members of the community that the MM transmitter lasts about 1-2 years. Though some seem to get a much longer! Here are some other discussions, which may point you towards members that can give your...

I heard the warranty for transmitters is only six months (which means after 6 months you can request a new one from your insurance company and they should pay for it). So it makes sense that after a year of using it that you're having trouble with...

I have had my CGM system for almost one year & have used the sensors up to 24 days, recharging the transmitter every 6 days. Today I am getting a low battery message after less than 2 days of use, Is this a sign that my transmitter is dying. Do I ...

This is a little off topic - but if you want to have something naturally sweet and unbelievable delicious, try some local fresh picked strawberries (preferably ones you pick yourself) - I don't know if this applies to all parts of the country - bu...

I usually avoid donuts - but if I really wanted one I would bolus for it - (which I can get away with if I don't do it very often) - the only time I was REALLY tempted was when I was in France & Germany a couple of years ago - all of those great p...

I have never been able to force myself to eat glucose tablets - I use the snack size packs of NECCOS - one pack is 13g carbs - 50 calories - which is usually about what I need - I always carry 2 packs in my pocket and keep them at my bedside and a...

Good luck - and don't give up - I am close (Kent, WA) - but not close enough to attend your meetings (and I haven't been up to Victoria in years - but if you ever make it down to the Seattle area, let me know & we can get together. I used to atten...

While I normally use the Frio wallets, I discovered just before a 3 week trip to the Midwest last fall that my 2 year old wallet no longer worked as well as I needed. Since I too had the problem of no refrigerators in hotel rooms, I bought a small...

Come any time! I love Budapest and most visitor do! I could find you an opportunity to teach English here, perhaps in a village or in Budapest. I did mission work for a year here and my husband works for the Hungarian Reformed Church-- so we are connected with a lot of people doing mission work and I know some people that would LOVE to have an English course for a week! Please do get in touch if you think you could do it some day!!!

Wow! Great to hear from someone with successful diabetic pregnancies!

We are mostly settled here, though we will likely live in the USA sometime too. I have had really good experiences with the medical care here. I go to a clinic especially for patients on the insulin pump-- and they work with pregnant women. I still need to find a high risk OB-GYN here, but the diabetes care that I have is good. Plus, it is a nationalized health care system, so it is much more affordable for us to live here. My insulin costs me 2 dollars a month, and they pay 90% of pump supplies as well. So I feel good about living here, but I need to make sure that i feel good about having our first pregnancy here as well. We are going to meet with doctors this year I hope. Thanks for your concern! I am SURE that I will turn to you with questions in the future :) Like how you kept such good control during the pregnancies!!! So glad that you are on TuDiabetes!

Hi Carole! Welcome to TuDiabetes! I'm so glad that you found this community! My father was just diagnosed at age 50 with type 2, but the doctor is keeping lookout for type 1.5-- so that's reassuring. I hope that you daughter is doing well! This will be a hard adjustment for her, but she is lucky to have you to help her out!!!
