Janice, I don't think that's intended... I would contact Insulet. For what it's worth, I just got a new shipment about 2 weeks ago and those bods don't beep with basal delivery.

If you're covered on insurance, I'm sure they would pay for a replacement if you are out of warranty. Generally, insurance coverage on medical devices is such that you can get a new one when your warranty expires.

No, I've never experienced anything like that. I get lots of headaches otherwise, but have never noticed anything like what you describe. Best of luck to you, Carolyn

For what it's worth, my 1st Dex receiver is over a year old now and still going strong. It was an original Dexcom Seven system and then I upgraded it to the Seven Plus system as soon as the upgrade came out (same receiver though). It looks pretty ...

I have actually had similar changes with weight loss. I don't know whether the changes actually happened suddenly or whether I only noticed them in that way, but it sure seemed sudden to me. I was once about 30 pounds heavier than I am now and los...

Yeah, MM is only supplying one box at a time, but they give you one box every 3 weeks and are extremely good about making it very easy. For me, it took one phone call and I've had 3 on-time (or early) deliveries. Honestly, it really shouldn't matt...

LOL - your picture when I saw it on the on the forum (how to collect money) - I thought you were a teenager - so obviously you have a) good genes; b) lead a healthy life! So, keep it up as I'm always considered younger for my age (and it doesn't bother me) - and then of course - get told "but you look so healthy and you aren't overweight - you can't have diabetes!!". Oh pweaseee! Then I start to educate them diabetes - because obviously they are a wee bit misinformed - but I educate them in as nice a manner as I can. Great A1C by the way.

Hi Carolyn - I noticed you live in Chapel Hill. I used to live in Wake Forest when I worked at GSK. I have to admit I miss NC during the winters up here in PA.

Hi Carolyn,

we used the holidays to evolve the Glucosurfer a little further. Now you can upload your pump data of Medtronic devices to update your Glucosurfer diary (data in CSV format). Of course some things like physical activity or free text commentary will be missing. On the other hand you can share the Glucosurfer diary with your doctor and the community and you can benefit from the graphical approach of our project.

Our project can be used in full anonymity but sharing the diary in TuDiabetes will of course reveal your identity. This is some sort of a dilemma since I anticipate that most TuMembers will hesitate to do so. On the other hand you can control how long the link to share your diary with the community will be usable. It is really hard to predict how this new capability will used here.

You can even upload small excerpts of your data for testing. We are still improving the software and your data can help to do so. In the future we are planning to import other pump data as well for example from Roche devices.

I wish you a happy new year 2009,
Holger

Thanks for sharing your experience. I got a little nausea as i built up to 60mcg, but none since. I've not taken Symlin and not eaten. I make sure I"ve got the meal planned before i inject. We just had "breakfast for dinner" with waffles, and i started at 105 and 2 1/2 hours later was at 128. For me that is spectacular. The combo dose is still working and i doubt I'll rise any more either.

Hi Carolyn1 how far ahead of eating do you take your Symlin? Also, do you do a combo dose for the insulin? I'm trying to find the right combination of timing and dose that works. I currently am trying taking the Symlin 20 mins in advance of the meal, then do a combo bolus with 20% up front and the balance delivered over 90 mins. Sometimes it works perfectly, other times it doesn't. What's your experience? thanks dave

Hi Carolyn,
I want to ask you how you coordinate the pump and symlin therapy. I think symlin might help me.

Thanks,

Kevin

I haven't stopped by and said hello, officially. I just wanted to say welcome and thanks for your already-very informed and interesting contributions to discussions. I joined this summer and jumped in with both feet, too. It's great to have you here, Carolyn!
