Ha ha I have 4 step grand kids, but they don't live locally. Chocolate is a hard one to resist, or not go overboard with. I think sometimes I do it and then worry about it later, naughty i know (but honest he hee). I like plain dark chocolate which has alot less carbs than sweet milk choc so if I fancy something a little bit taboo I get a bar of really good dark choc and have a square. I try and avoid as well, if it isn't here I can't eat it.
hey willpower is only for those who don't have to deal with something every second of every day forever, for us it's bloomin exhausting because you gotta be around food all the time you can't really ever avoid if you see what I mean.
(*whispers*) Any way even those with seemingly perfect control slip up every now and then *winks
Stay well and enjoy the rest of your day x x x

Charlene, you can request someone as a friend, by just clicking on the "add as friend" under their profile picture (hmm, we'll work on getting you a profile picture next). For example, go to my page. Under my picture, you'll see "add as friend" click that, and a little box will say something about do you want to add a message - enter something here like "please accept my friendship, Marie", or just hit enter. why don't you try it with me?

the #1 benefit of being friends with someone is, in my opinion, that you can send them private messages that the rest of the community does not see. I find this helpful if I want to discuss a sensitive topic, for example.

I'm in Cornwall, whereabouts are you?
I've joined a few, but have found them a bit...ummm.....judgemental? Here everyone is helpful and it really feels like a community. I think the people here bolster each other and offer support and encouragement.

Welcome to the community, Charlene! I flew out to Cali for the Santa Clara TCOYD, but I'm actually in Texas. What did you think of the event? Let me know if I can help you find your way around TuDiabetes.

To change your profile photo from the default "upload your photo" image, click Settings and follow the instructions for uploading a new photo. After saving the changes, your photo should be in place.

I checked out TCOYD's schedule for 2010, and they're not going to be near me. I may see if I could combine it with a trip, esp if Manny's going to be there. Did you meet him? He is really my hero for starting TuDiabetes. Read - here - about my lunch with him and his family.
