I've had diabetes for 22 years this fall (since I was in kindergarten)...so I don't really have any memories of before diabetes, but I do remember that the teen years have so far been the worst... cause it messes with your hormones so much, so I think just getting older can make it easier to deal with it.

just wanted to say that your posts in "does it get better" really touched me... and wanted to let you know that you're not the only one who's cut themselves either.. .something I always wondered about ...since we have the tools to do so and to do it so easily too...I think one of the biggest things that makes it "better" is having support both from family and friends but also from those who also have diabetes... are you from York PA? (I grew up in PA but live in DC) but when I was a teenager, they used to have something called teen weekend which was good... not sure if it is still around..and there's also camp setabaid in PA (http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/camps/d_07_2gc.htm) which is a good way to meet other people your age with diabetes...
