Posted on October 5, 2009 at 5:30pm 3 Comments

There are a lot of different ways people celebrate World Diabetes Day, this year I decided to participate and be a part of the planning committee of a luncheon at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center. I have volunteered at the health center since the age of 9. Nina Howard is the Director of Community Relations at Samuel U. Rodgers; they have 3 luncheons a year (Breast Cancer, Heart Health and Diabetes). This year she wants to focus on… Continue

Diabetes On My Mind

Posted on January 27, 2009 at 10:13pm 4 Comments

It doesn’t matter where I am or what I’m doing I can always spark a convo about diabetes. It’s cool to see people talk about diabetes. How diabetes affects them and their family. I’ve heard alot of great success stories. I’ve read alot of horror stories but recently I was able to hear Jane’s story from her sister. I have thought about Jane everday since last Saturday. I couldn’t shake her or get her off my mind. I know things happen for a reason… I decided to share Jane’s (fake name) story with… Continue

Healthier "D" & Healthier "Me"

Posted on January 13, 2009 at 12:26am 7 Comments

I wrote a blog a few months back called My 7 "Bad" Habit's as a Diabetic. I am slowly making adjustments, working on them. Heck, the hardest thing is saying no to Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and I said "NO" today. I know it's minor but I am proud of myself for not taking a piece. I am not ready to introduce the Cups back in my life...I am own a mission and I know I can't control myself. So--Out of sight, Out of my… Continue

"Hi, I was misdiagnosed type 2 back in Aug 2013. It was after a lot of deduction and research that I went back to my endo and insisted on the CPeptide and GAD 65 tests, because of the insane history of auto-immune issues in my family, rheumatoid…"

This is great information that you have posted. I am just readding more information on Dawn Phenonmenon, which my doctor suspects I have. I was so freaked out until I visted tuDiabetes and found out that I'm not alone. On top of that, I was thrilled to find a link for Christian Diabetics. This site is great. I've referred some of my Diabetic friends to TuDiabetes... I really hope they take advantage of the resources. Have a wonderful holiday.
