Stuart replied to Christina's discussion 'Why is Walgreens selling Contour USB for $9.99??!?!'
"Hello Christina: You might consider using any of the other slots of/for information which the software program allows for one of those pieces of information. I've not read the manual yet, nor hooked mine up. Interesting... But thanks for the…"

"Thank you all for your input. I went and got two of them, one for regular use and the other as a back up. I am enjoying the software for tracking your numbers. Now if they would invent a way to let you enter how many carbs you are eating and how…"

"CVS has the meter for the same price plus a 20% off coupon, which makes it only $8 plus shipping if you order it online.  Store availability would save the shipping if you are close by to one.  I figure it wouldn't hurt to try."

"Meter companies love to give meters away because they make the most money from their strips.  They can sometimes be stingy with the 'higher end' meters but they'll do it when they think it will encourage people to switch over.…"

"It's not a clearance sale.  It's just a sale.  Even Bayer is giving them away for free right now, on their site.  This is often what happens with some new, fancy meters... They skyrocket, and once they get popular, they…"

Why is Walgreens selling Contour USB for $9.99??!?!

I was in Walgreens yesterday for something absolutley unrelated to D and saw this while I was wandering around the store. I had to do a double take and then got skeptical that it was marked wrong. But the details checked out. I use the regular Contour so I have a load of strips that are compatible. Thought I would pick it up "just in case" it was really a good deal. I just didnt want another meter laying around, unused.…See More

I'll have to post my blog here at Tudiabetes that I did earlier this week at - having issues with Levemir - swelling where I inject - as well as blood glucose not being as good as when I was using Lantus. Some people are telling me with Levemir they had to increase their dosage - which is something I hadn't hoped to do with Levemir. For now, back to Lantus until I figure things out - but at least BG's are back in normal range (am going to post this same message on Robyn's page as well - since you are both Levemir babes ).

I was on Lantus as well, didn't like it anymore....been on it for many years and every regime known to man...always had problems. Went onto Levemir and no longer have lows at night, I had to do a basal testing routine that was a pain in the ass, but worked. Levemir dosent overlap on me...Lantus did when I tried the split. I inject at 8am and 10 pm. I take my larger dose in the am and lesser at eve. I used to crash from 5am to 7am on Lantus taking full amount at night.

Now I am pretty steady, Just had to increase my humalog dose now......What a pain, I understand.
Google "basal testing" and it may help you. If you take more levemir in the am and very little at bed, amaybe that will help??
I cannot take alot of insulin at bed....hope this helps.
