My letter to the TODAY show about GMA's ignorance

On July 9th 2008 'Good Morning America' did a really stupid and disrespectful thing. They aired a segment on Diabetes. They told millions of Americans how this disease could be prevented. What they failed to do is distinguish between the different types of diabetes. They encompassed it all under one umbrella. This left millions of Type ONE diabetics extremely angry, frustrated, and demanding a retraction. Did they retract? Kind of. They changed the title of the story on their website to say… Continue

Oh ok well thats good to know. I was wondering cause I knew I needed to be able to keep us all in contact. No biggee on getting in late. We can just meet at the event the next morning somewhere. JDRF had just recommended teams find certain spots to meet so that everyone was together. So we'll just think of a near by area to hook up. Thank you. :)

Yes I"m very excited to meet everyone. I still do not know how to get ahold of everyone that has signed up to walk. So if you know any way of talking to them I'd sure appreciate it. We need to plan on a time to meet and all get together that morning. Hope you are good. See you soon. SMiles Jen :)

Great! I actually also used these in the place of rice or pasta because they weren't as cripsy as chips. I guess that it should work with any root vegetable (like turnips, etc). Hope that you can find more foods that make the diet easier... I'm sure that it is a real struggle to get used to. Keep us posted on how you are doing!

Hi Christine! How's the celiac diet going? I thought of you today when I made a gluten-free, carb free recipe. I sliced celery root (I think that you can get this at grocery stores in the USA) really thin using a food processor (about the thickness of potato chips). I drizzled olive oil over them and sprinkled them with seasoned salt. Put them in the oven with the broiler on. Pretty much carb free and a good substitute for chips. They have a bit of a celery flavor, which i like.

Hope that you are doing well!
