Corrie replied to optimisticJuliet's discussion 'Tattoo's hurt diabetics?' in the group Inked Diabetics
"I'm a T1 and got mine about a year ago. My endocrinologist was all for it (its a medic alert tattoo). He thinks its a great idea, and has no problem with diabetics in general getting tattoos so long as their sugars are being well controlled."

Hi Corrie- I saw your post on the PA diabetics group. I live in Bucks Co. and have been a T-1 for 12 years. If I can answer any of your questions just stop by my page. I think you will find this site very informative and supportive. Take your time getting used to your new D life, it is a change from the life you had before your Dx, but it will get more familiar as time passes.

Welcome to TuDiabetes Corrie! I was diagnosed with type 1 at 21 (seven years ago) and more recently with Hashimoto's as well. So our immune systems have a couple things in common!

How are you doing since diagnosis? We know how hard it is... so please turn to this community when you need us! I saw that you also wrote that you are dealing with papillary thyroid cancer. Are you dealing with treatment for that as well?

Someday, life will feel more normal again. It will be a new normal that includes living with chronic conditions, but look around here and see all the people doing amazing things WITH diabetes. It's always so encouraging!
