- Is your husband still in the Navy? My husband was when I was first diagnosed, but he teaches here now, as do I. I see you have a fairly new diagnosis. The Navy didn't know what to do with me when I got pregnant with our second (I became diabetic between pregnancies), so they gladly let me go down to UW to deliver. In fact, they were happy to Champus me out for nearly everything diabetes related.
