Hi, I'm Dana Heffern, a Type 1 Diabetic, and I've been awarded a scholarship from the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD). The scholarship will help fund a performance art piece that discusses the difficulties of living with Type 1, entitled “Antidote.” The work will be performed on the campus of Goddard College and is scheduled for the end of July, 2011.…

- Having to post this on your wall again - as I can't seem to send you a private message to you - will erase this post once I've heard back from you - Ok Dana - I've got a room booked with a view for the 26th July for your show (Ginger the same day said she trusted me to stay at her condo if I couldn't have found a place - now call that trusting someone - along with offering up a nice place to "couch surf"!
Only question is that Ginger wrote on Facebook to another diabetic (Lee Ann Thill) who is very active in the arts field like yourself - that your show was NEXT week. I'm hoping Ginger made a mistake in that - as the blog she'd written about your event - still shows 26th July - Goddard College - 7:30 - 9:30.
If you see this plea of help to see if the date has changed - so I can try to not lose out all my $$$'s on the room at Marshfield Inn for next Tuesday - great! I'm just hoping that Ginger made a little brain boo boo - since I know if she's anything like me - I have so many diabetic events this summer - that it's sometimes hard to know one week from another.
I always say - I'm fighting getting dementia (which diabetics are prone to getting, along with all sorts of other yucky things) by making my brain work - and trying not to write things down - but retain them in my sponge brain :)

I'm actually putting up a "drive with FatCatAnna in her Smart car to Dana's artshow" for those diabetics in the Vermont area that have been wanting to meet up with me when I come to the US of A. The snag will be - they are willing to let me "couch surf" for the night when I return them back after your show :)
If my Boxster I am picking up this Friday ('97) was road worthy enough - would drive that down - that baby is meant to be on a curvy road. DH is having to fix up roof so it can go up/down properly - and also change one of the shocks - so for now - I'm not driving it. It's a 50th Bpressie and D-anniversary gift to myself. Having been told I'd only live to 40 with being diabetic - has made me treat myself from time to time with goodies (at 40 it was a BMW motorcycle).
I'll look for your "eye" and Ginger at "the head table" - or that's how she's been wording where she'll be for your event.

so the pump gave him his life back!
yes it is hard with a little one, esp as he has no hypo awareness at all, I can't afford to take my eye off the ball! but I guess it's hard for all ages, the problems just change as you get older
