I had been giving blood regularly before being diagnosed with Type 1 almost two years ago - I would like to start donating again, and the local red cross is all for it. Any advice for preparations I might take, or adverse effects to expect for a t...

So I spent last week on the Sure-T's (usually using Silhouettes), and must say I was not a huge fan. No problems at all with the metal needle, it was super comfortable, but I found that when changing the location of the site (using the same reserv...

So, falling asleep with my daughter (age six) just after reading a story, and she says "so, daddy - in your body does the glucose chase the insulin or does the insulin chase the glucose?" I say "the insulin chases the glucose, just like in your body", and she says "thats true, but I have enough insulin in my body, or atleast I can make it myself, but you can't, because of the diabetes, thats why. huh?"

Hi Dan, I have read that you are using the Glucose Buddy. Can you provide me an extract of your data? Maybe we at Glucosurfer.org can write an import filter for its data files. We can import csv and xml. If you have both formats at hand we can check which format is easier to import. On the pump side the data export is really a closed system. It seems very unlikely that Minimed will provide any insights for developers (for insurance reasons I guess). So the pump data is only accessible via the Minimed site: upload to Minimed, export as csv. We can import these csv files and with your help we could import data files of Glucosurfer Buddy to unite both. Not a very convenient approach but at least it seams feasible. What do you think?

:) No I haven't printed them out. I just design them on zazzle.com for fun. The models are all Internet magic. Looks pretty real though , eh?

I don't visit my own page often and didn't realize people were leaving comments for me! This is a response to your message about the "Longest Urinal" project. Thanks! It was quite enjoyable!

Hey, another RI'er! Unfortunately, I've been transplanted to CT (for work - you and I both know how RI-ers feel about the state next door), but I come home to RI a few times to month to hang with the family and friends. :)

Nice to meet you! And thanks for adding me!
