My mother, and two oler brothers all had some form of diabetes. Neither my mother nor oldest brother died of this disease. David will be 83 in January and I will be 79 in January 2009, so we have lived past our expected life years and any further time we consider icing on the cake (low carbs). That's our just chocolate years.
My wife and I were married in August 1954, USN Training Center, San Diego California. We lived in Japan where our two sons were born in 1955 and 1956. After 9+ years, I was discharged from the US Navy in 1957, then I attended Oregon State University majoring in Electrical Engineering and two more babies arrived in 1958 (son) and 1958 (daughter).
I worked for Chevron Oil Company of California and Saudi Arabian Oil Company of Saudi Arabia and retired in 1987 and then in 1993. In 1954-1956 I worked at the Borco Refinery, Freeport, Grand Bahamas.
We have 3 sons and 1 daughter, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Our eldest son & his family live in Angola, Africa, a son in Arizona and the other two children live in Bellingham and Ferndale, Washington.
