Tonight was the Bariatric informational meeting dad is considering. Mom and I went too, for different reasons. Mom does not approve, and I wanted to learn more and show support. What he got from it was that he and mom need to walk more. Not that he needs to eliminate fast food or the empty foods or the soda. Yes, I agree walking is a great start, but their dedication is never consistent. But maybe this time is different, this time dad's kidney's are at risk, leading to kidney failure. His…See More

- I am the daughter and grand-daughter of a Type 2 diabetic family members. I have already lost my grandma to kidney failure, and according to my dad's doctor, he's on the same course. I have begged him to exercise with me. Begged him to change his diet. He knows he is sick, but he knows he is lazy, too. I just wish I could be his strength and get him started and start reversing some of these symptoms and eventually this diagnosis! I love him, and I want him to be around a lot, lot longer.
