Well getting him the pump will be really good! It will make controlling diabetes MUCH easier. I know fighting with insurance companies is a pain..but sometimes that's what you have to do to get what you really need. I've had my share of fights under my belt with insurance companies over the yrs!! LOL ;-) I was on multiple injections for many, many years previously and the pump was a big step for me because I didn't want to do it before that but wish I had! But there's a lot of people here that are also using the CGM so you may want to look into the groups here or look under the forum discussions to view what people are saying about it. You have the bonus being here to actually talk to people who have the experience and can give you tips or information about most anything regarding D's!! It will be useful to both you and your son to be here I am sure!! :)

Hi Darla..welcome to TuD! Has your son started the pump yet? I noticed you mentioned something about when he gets his pump and CGM. I am on the Medtronic 722 but not using the CGM (haven't made my decision about starting it or not). I also live in VA! I hope you find the site useful!! Have a nice weekend! :)
