Summer time may mean more time!

Hello everyone! Wow this place is rocking! So many more members since the last time that I visited tudiabetes and hopefully more people that I will be able to connect with. With me being a teacher, I'm glad to see the school year end. This past few months have been quite frustrating and stressful and I'm glad to have summer here to relax a little. Olivia is doing well - we have had our ups and downs lately, but she is good. Some highlights (and not so highlights from the past few months) are...… Continue

Two Years!

Two years ago today my sweet little Olivia was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. She has diabetes, but diabetes doesn't define who she is as a person. We love you!

2009 JDRF Beach Ball Gala

This past weekend (March 14th, 2009) was the Northwestern Pennsylvania chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's annual "Beach Ball Gala" to help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. Olivia was choosen to be this year's "Fund A Cure Kid". We had members of JDRF (Chris Britt and Tom Balos) come to our house to interview us and to take video of Olivia. Parts of the video included how we manage her diabetes, blood sugar checks, receiving an insulin shot, counting carbs,… Continue

Started out as a Joke!

This past Saturday my husband had to work so every now and then he would call home to see how Olivia's blood sugar readings were. I was giving him a hard time and joking around with him because Olivia's numbers were so good all day. I was saying, "Maybe I should take over all diabete… Continue

Hi
Been a while since I posted anything, just wrote a new blog post, not a real good one. I've been haivng some problems, LOL 40th bithday come on my Sat and it showes it's ugly head. :)
I was in NC when Tony won the All Star race, I was thre for his first win as a owner, I was so damn proud! I was in the hospital two days later and sick the rest of the week with this crap. I think my insids are shutting down, I will be in Minisotta at teh Mayo at the end of next month trying to figure it out.
Besides feeling bad and not having a ballanc eof sorts, I'm doing ok. One step at a time right.

I think of you and Olivia all the time.

I wish you well

Wow

hope she is doig beter and you are too! Do the small amouns and dont drp her fast. I am sue yoru doing everything right, just figuring stuff out is unreal some day. Kep cool and be there just like you ae. Good choice geting her to the hospital. Sounds like she had a bug she just could not kick ad her body revolte, I've had that happen. I remeber it as a kid too.

When I had my first stint done a year ago, I came out of surgery with highBG an gave myself to much insulin in the hospital because I thought I would eat more, but did ot.They had to shoot me up wih D50, the body reacts in wierd ways to trama.

I hope she is better and I will be thinking of all you guys.

Stay well.

I wish you well

Hi Ronda

Wow, I thought Greg Biffle was goingtohave that one, or at least be a 1,2 Roush win, but he did power all the way back to 4th. He had the car to win tonight, too bad about the pit stop.

I a prety proud of Tony, he did not have a great car tonight but he is 3rd in points so far and is doing well. I just want to see him climb the fence again LOL.

Hope everything is going good for you and Olivia and the family.
(I'm so happy NASCAR is back on and going!)

I wish you well

4 years old is tough to explain whats happening. I used to be a counselor at Camp Earthworks for ADA and I worked with so many young children with early onset.
