Using Humalog and Apidra. Anyone done/doing it?

I took adavantage of the free bottle of Apidra offer but, after reading some comments on the web, I'm not sure I want to make the switch completely. According to the comments it can play hell with your basal rates if your not careful, but is apparently great for fast bolus absorption. That's originally why I wanted to try it.After having read those comments I'm now thinking that maybe I'll just use it for correction boluses taken by syringe. This would, of course, mean mixing humalog and…See More

"Yes, the individual differences seem to be huge. For some Humalog might be like water for others it is quick and sufficient. On paper the analog insulins are supposed to work faster. Regular insulin forms complex hexameric structures in the vial.…"

Thank you all for your birthday wishes!

Long, long ago in another galaxy...(well not that bad) I went to the University Michigan library and read everything I could understand about T1 DM. One of the documents I stumbled across was an insurance co. actuarial table. It said that (at the time) my life expectancy was 54 years. I'm pleased to report (knock wood) I'm alive and kicking at 62 sending this message to you all! Hang in there!

Thanks again.

Dave
