David C Weisberg replied to BlessedLife's discussion 'Liberty Medical' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"I used to order all my supplies from them. I switched to medtronic for my supplies after Liberty drove me nuts by not answering my calls or keeping promises to ship supplies or call me back. Medtronic is no picnic either, but at least you can get…"

David C Weisberg replied to DeeJay's discussion 'Medtronics Horrible Sensor Pain' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"Those of you who are lucky to have no fat in which to place the sensor, just pinch up the skin before inserting so that the canula goes under the skin and not into the muscle."

David C Weisberg replied to Josh's discussion 'Anyone switching Bayer Contour Next?' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"It is supposed to be more accurate than the one touch. I like it better because it allows you to enter meter readings into the carelink log so that you have a record of all your tests, whether you have sent them to the pump or not. It is also a lot…"

David C Weisberg replied to DeeJay's discussion 'Medtronics Horrible Sensor Pain' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"You are quite welcome. Always make sure that sensor and infusion set cannulas are placed under the skin and never in muscle."

David C Weisberg commented on Manny Hernandez's group 'Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users'

David C Weisberg replied to DeeJay's discussion 'Medtronics Horrible Sensor Pain' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"Yes, you probably are placing it in muscle tissue. If you don't have a fatty site, try pinching up the skin when you insert the sensor. The needle should not go into muscle. If it does, it is likely to cause bleeding which renders the sensor…"

KatieV replied to David C Weisberg's discussion 'Pump Upgrades and Medicare' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"My mother uses a pump and has already found out that to upgrade your pump on medicare you have to have had the pump for 5 years --or one year past the warranty expiration. Hope this helps."

David C Weisberg replied to matchmo1's discussion 'Minimed CGM' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"I don't think you can. If you are concerned about this, count the days from your placing the sensor and replace it before it usually conks out."
Dec 11, 2012
David C Weisberg replied to Marypat's discussion 'Accidentally pulling out a cannula' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"You can never go anywhere you can't lay your hands on replacements within a few hours. I always keep reserve infusion sets, reservoirs and sensors and their placement devices and sensor transmitter charger with me when I travel or am away from…"

David C Weisberg replied to matchmo1's discussion 'Minimed CGM' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"The enlite sensors are for the new pump which, together with the sensors, are due to be through FDA approval by the end of 2013. I do not know if they will work with the paradigm pumps."

David C Weisberg replied to matchmo1's discussion 'Minimed CGM' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"You test often enoug that the pump will never have to tell you to test. MIssing meals is a lot easier with the sensor because you don't just have a reading to go by, you can see what your sugars have been trending since your last test. I find…"

David C Weisberg replied to Erika's discussion 'Does stress make you low or high??' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"I am very stress sensitive. However, when I get stressed my blood sugars soar out of sight and hypoglycemia is never in the picture. If you, unlike me, tend not to eat when you are stressed, that may be one explanation of your hypos. In addition, if…"

David C Weisberg replied to Adriana's discussion 'Pump battery life?' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"Me too. I use the advanced lithium batteries exclusively for every appliance, including the pump and the sensor transmitter charger. Performance is superior to every other battery I have used. However, they are expensive and I order them in bulk…"

David C Weisberg replied to Brandon Burkhardt's discussion 'New pump user - would like some advice.' in the group Minimed Paradigm Insulin Pump Users
"Blood in the infusion set cannula can often be a sign that it is placed in muscle tissue and it can become partially occluded. Make sure to place the infusion set in fatty tissue. If you are lucky enough not to have any fat, pinch up the skin before…"
