Hi David ...as off yesterday I decided to give up on the Enlite Sensors ...I have one left , which I will use while in the Netherlands soon ( May 6- 17 ).I get very frustrated with the results ,as well as all the warnings .Mine usually only lasted 5 plus days .While at my Specialist a chap was at the Clinic and she asked if I could help him with the set up ( CDE on day off ) .Also in his insertion device was the previous sensor /needle encasing still left .Doc pressed hard on the green " button " and the encasing came loose and we proceeded with the sensor ( we all were in awe:) ) ...all went well . I had to be shown by a local buddy , how to , because I also lost a sensor ( about 1 yr ago ) ...buddy had training by Nurse at Diabetes Clinic ...she never used the previous 3 day type . I trialed the Dexcom G4 at the same time as I was wearing an Enlite ...I gave the Dexcom 3 thumbs up and Enlite 2 thumbs down ...the only big difference the Enlite stops delivering insulin , when low ( I set at 3.4 ) ..and finger poke was either higher or lower !! .The Dex was lasting me almost 17 full days ..and because I wear a Medtronic pump 2 gadgets are required .I do like my Medtronic pump !! ...we are going to write to Hubby's past employer and PBC to check for coverage of sensors .Please let me know , if I have been clear in responding to your concerns , OK ?? stay in touch please .
