Water Aerobics and Blood Glucose Readings

Posted on September 8, 2009 at 9:35pm 0 Comments

For the past 3 weeks, I have been doing water aerobics on my own- I wear either a belt or noodle to keep me buoyant in the deep water and jog or ski for about 45 minutes. I take my blood sugars spradically and have found them to be extremely better, i.e. 110 vs 121 to 129 without the exercise in the water. It seems to work much better then walking. I would like you TuDiabetes members to try it and let me know your results. Also, it it very relaxing. Any questions - let me know.

A Glass Of Wine

Does a glass of wine lower or higher your glucose readings 8 to 10 hours later? I was told by my
Dr. That a glass of wine is great for the HDL and he is an endocronologist.

Hey - got your FB message. Are you going to that meeting tomorrow? I told Eric I didn't want to take up a spot. Just checking in on you, and I know I promised you a walk in Creve Coeur Park - I WILL do it! Hold me to it!

Hi David, I have type 1. Have had it for 37 years since I was 18. Yes, type 2s should have an easier time controlling their blood sugar with their insulin reserve, but as a mindset type 2s can also deny the need to change lifestyle habits. 50 Diabetes Myths That Can Ruin Your Life and the "50 Diabetes Truths That Can Save It" is in libraries, don't know specifically about yours. It's also available in book stores and on Amazon. "The ABCs of Loving Yourself with Diabetes" is only available on Amazon. Good luck!
