Great idea - I didn't read about this until July 14 and will not have my kit with me @ 4 but it will encourage me to test more regularly. Right now it has been a few days since I tested - not good.

well this is my third go 'round with Plantar fasciitis so its chronic. The first time about 8 yr ago the cortisone shot worked great, The second time I got the set of 3 shots before it subsided. This time I've had the 3 shots and 6 weeks of therapy and still have pain ..... plus this time I also have Achilles tendonitis with it. Very frustrating. Do wear orthotics but am on my feet all day . I hope you enjoy it here. These are great people.

Hi Debby, welcome at tudiabetes! And thanks for your comment on my blog post. I would be so happy with an A1c of 7.1 right now... but a goal has probably to fit a situation and the people dealing with it. For me a A1c below 7.5 would be great right now. For you under 7, for other people (e.g. women who want to get pregnant) under 6.5. I mean, an A1c of 6.5 would be great for me too, but it's not a goal I try to achieve right now, it would just be a discouraging too big step. Small steps are good.
And I think most people with diabetes hate counting at some point. ;) Just start, do what you can and try to stay on track. (And yes, endos can be pretty helpful, I think.)
I hope you have fun doing sports as soon as you're back at it & wish you all the best!

feel like a failure!

today I feel like a total failure regarding controlling my diabetes. I eat as though I am a "normal" person. Right now I don't even know where my testing kit is. I must find it tonight and start testing regularly. I am on 2000mg metformin for med. Usually my #'s are higher in the morning and better late afternoon. My last A1C was 7. Sugar I had yesterday . . . ice cream bar, big sugar cookie, french fries - oh my.
