Sharps Container

OK. I have a question. I'm a newbie so be kind!Do any of you have a "sharps" container and what do you do with it when it is full? The miser in me wants to use a pop bottle and "sneak" it in the trash. The "smart" part of me wants to do what's right. But, honestly, diabetes is so expensive! What do you guys say? Thanks!See More

Had a total meltdown at my CDE (and nutritionists) yesterday. She helped me find a new doctor and I got in to see her the same day. My old doc just wasn't taking diabetes serious enough, but the new doc is a CDE as well! Wow! What a difference. OK, I know I have cheated, but I have gone a full week without cheating and I just couldn't get a bg level below 180. My old doc said keep the appointment in another month, and my new one (who is really a Certified Physcian's Assistant), got my old test… Continue

Merry Christmas

Posted on December 24, 2009 at 1:17pm 0 Comments

Tomorrow is Christmas, and thou, I will remember the true meaning of the holiday, I am planning for an "Off Plan" day. I do worry that I've been trying so hard to eat healthy lately that I may not enjoy all the carbs I plan on eating. Wouldn't that be a real Christmas treat?

And I want to thank those who replied to my blod of 2 days ago. It's good to know that I am not alone in my feelings. Here's hoping the New Years brings us all what we need.

Is it over?

Well, I'm almost over it. Lying to myself, I mean. You know ..... Taking an extra slice of bread or a cookie and saying that it won't do any harm..... And then when it does, we're confused that our bg has gone up. lol I've been doing that for the last 2 months since I was diagnosed. I mean, if it was really an issue, I'd be on a lot of insulin, right? lol

Ok, done with denial ... for now anyway. Bargining, I skipped right over (or is that the reason I'm trying to lose weight? Either… Continue

Thank you for your comment. It is getting easier to deal with Cody's death now. I am only really worried about my other dog.

As for one of my bosses..I am going to just act like it didn't happen. Maybe having more education/information would help.

Well, Thanks again! Happy New Year!
