Well it's official, I've finally managed to get my diabetes counselor to get me tested for GAD and C-peptide.. and guess what?? I'm not a thin type 2, I am definitely a LADA! My C-peptide came back <0.5 and get this.. the GAD test came back >30.0.



They're now talking to me about going onto the pump.. any advise on that would be much appreciated. So all this time while I've been telling the doctor that I have LADA, I was right.. she is now going to have to admit defeat..… Continue

Hi there.. I thought I'd share my news with my friends on TuD. I'm heading back to school to get into the medical field. Going into a Medical Assistant's Associates Degree.

I wish that I could change the minds of my medical team. Sounds silly really because they're the ones who should know all the answers or at least have a better idea than I do.



Because I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes initially, even though most of the evidence looks like I'm type 1/LADA, they keep turning me down for a GAD-65 test and C-peptide tests. They tell us that when we have diabetes we should avoid stress.. My doctor keeps critisizing me because my blood sugars have been high in the past.. I keep telling her it's stress and she keeps saying then use the stress avoidance tactics. Ha! that's a real laugh.



Over the last couple of years I've had so much stress I'm surprised I'm functioning at all.
