We have flown 2 round trips since my son was diagnosed. So, that makes 4 passes through security with NO problems (knock on wood). I had everything in ONE bag (extra insulin, needles, etc.) with the note from his endo. that he needs to have these supplies with him at all times. We only got stopped ONE time and was asked to open the bag. They looked in it & that was that. Good luck & happy travels.

Denys,
I am glad you found this site. I have been type one since 1959, so 51 years last summer. I have no complications, but I have followed the diet and injected twice a day forever. My regime is totally Basel, 22 hour N insulin twice a day with some R mixed in for fun ha ha!!! I am totally comfortable with this and it takes me 15 minutes a day to figure things out. I regularly get 5.5 A1Cs and test twice a month unless I am sick with a cold or flu.
Take care of yourself.

I hope you enjoy it here with us!!! This site has been sooooo helpful to me since getting on it 3 or 4 years ago! And you would think that a diabetic (Type 1) for 30 + years at the time I would know SOMETHING about it! LOL!
