This is an uncomfortable subject for me. It's an embarrassing subject for me. I'm not sharing my story for attention. I'm sharing my story because there were so many signs I had and no one knew about what I was doing, not even my husband or my mother or my best friend. They didn't know there was a name for what I was doing. All they knew was I wasn't taking care of myself. They didn't know I was ultimately making myself sick to lose weight. Manageable Isn't Good Enough

I've heard about this, but, didn't know any details. I just knew 5 young people died. Very young. This is extremely sad and unfathomable to me. To die so young from a disease that is manageable is beyond incredulous to me. All the more reason we need a cure. Making this disease "manageable" isn't good enough. Of course this strikes a chord with me. I know most people will shrug it off because unless you're directly touched by it, it's not going to matter to you. That's just how most people are.… Continue

I wrote this January 30, 2010 after a 4 day stint in the hospital due to getting Ketoacidosis...and the reason I got Ketoacidosis is because I wanted to lose weight and I wanted to lose it fast. Needless to say, I learned my lesson after not being able to breathe...please don't judge, I've learned my lesson. :) But, I continue to struggle with checking my blood...…
