I haven't written in a long time so I thought I would chronicle some of my feelings these last few months. I am 33 weeks and 5 days pregnant. It has been one long roller coaster. I am happy to report my baby girl is healthy and growing at a normal rate ( I thank God for that). Although, baby is doing well that doesn't mean it's been an easy road. Elaine was born on 12-11-12 we missed 12-12-12 by four hours but I didn't mind I was ready to meet my baby girl.
I was scheduled to be induced at 8pm on 10 December. The morning of I was nervous and I started getting spotty vision and I felt flushed. WOO HOO!!! A1C 6.3

As some of you may know, three months ago I made the decision to start using an insulin pump and the CGMS. For three months, I wondered if the pump/CGMS combo was actually bringing my A1C down. Well, today I finally got the answer I was praying for. My A1C is 6.3 :) In the 10 years that I have been dealing with diabetes, I have never had an average this low. Prior to this, my lowest average was 7.1. Honestly, I still can't believe the news. I am now a true believer.

It has been a long time since I have written a bit. I have been super busy working as head paper pusher… LOL. The pump is still awesome and the CGMS is pretty good too. The only bad thing I've found is you never get a warning when the sensor is about to run out. Most of the time, I can wear my sensor for 3 days before it needs to be charged up, but every now and then it has to be charged after two days. I don't know why this happens. I charge my sensor at least 20 minutes as recommended. On my… Continue

Yesterday, I met with my pump consultant this time to get me on the CGM. We met at the PX on post, which is a very public area. I took out all of my little gadgets while I waited for Tim the pump man to meet me. The display of alcohol swabs, carrier, senserter, and introducer needle all over the little cafeteria table I could only wonder what people were thinking. To someone who is not diabetic or does not know a diabetic it may have looked like I was up to no good, especially on an army post… Continue

I got pregnancy with an A1c of 6.5. We figured we would start trying as it would probably take a few months, but it didn't :-) My A1c stayed between 6.0 and 6.5 throughout the pregnancy.
Hope that you are feeling OK! I remember how intense this time was, but as we all say: it is totally worth it!!!
