Joanie and others, I was afraid I was the only one having to pay outright for sensors and was pleased to see that I'm not the only one buying them myself. The positive thing is that I've never had a sensor last less than 10 days, and my last two ...

The Navigator accuracy is fantastic - no complaints after about 1 year. A negative about the Navigator is the size of the transmitter, which is about the size of a Hot Wheels car. (Yes, I have a 3-yo boy and can't think of a better comparison.) Al...

So how is the Navigator accuracy? and how big is the insertion needle. It is supposed a lot bigger than Dexcom's. Dexcom insertion is non-event. After wearing 3 weeks, it is perfectly feeling nothing. Dexcom insertion site is very secure with its ...

Ok, new question regarding the 7+ Are you able to use the transmitter/sensor in the back of the arms, or just the abdomen? The website says it is currently FDA-approved for the abdomen. I have used the Freestyle Navigator in the arms and thought ...

Where on the website did you find the case?

The new one, which comes in the seven+ kit, has a much simpler clip-- a single strip of spring steel, much thinner than the old pastlic-mounted alligator clip. Much easier to put on. It also holds really well. (The "sporty models" look identical, ...

No clip, you have to use a case with a clip on it. The one they send is bulky and kind of ugly but you can buy the sporty model with the clear cover on the dexcom site. It appears to be less bulky but I haven't seen it in person yet. I have been l...

does the dexcom system come with the clip to attach it to your pocket/purse/other? I have seen a case that has a clear cover that has a clip...is this an additional accessory that needs to be purchased separately? Thank you

Hi Rick You said that "The 7+ still goes away with "???" blank screens sometimes, but when you type in a fresh bG reading from your meter, it always starts graphing again immediately." Mine doesn't after my entering fresh BG readings. My "???"us...

Ahem, Diane-- I'm with you, Dex 7+ works WAY better for me than MM. But you shouldn't declare that it simply "DOES NOT WORK AT ALL", because there's lots of people for whom it works great. I know of a few people for whom Dexcom worked badly, and M...

You are correct, if you are charging the unit then your range drops. I had mine plugged in and set on the back of my chair last night and it was less than 5 feet from my sensor to the transmitter and it lost the readings. I just moved to my PC des...

Hi Diane,

I am also a member of this group and a Type 1 Diabetic. I thought you might be interested in meeting other Type 1s and wanted to let you know that I am the organizer of a meetup group called G.A.T.E.-Gastroparesis And Type1 Diabetes Exchange.

It is for Type 1s as well as for those with Gastroparesis and their caregivers. You can have either condition separately and don't need to have both to join. It is a support and activities group for people with similar conditions to interact, network, participate in discussions, ask questions, share experiences, or to vent frustrations. I will also have guest speakers periodically.

This is a new group that will meet in Union City on the third Sunday of each month starting May 17. If you would like to learn more, please check us out

G.A.T.E. website:
http://www.meetup.com/Type1Diabetes-GP-SupportGroup/

I hope you will consider joining us for a future meeting.

Thanks,
Margaret
